Durcor®. The World’s First Engineered Structural Composite Piping System
Durcor® is revolutionizing industrial piping systems. Featuring a seamless PTFE liner and a vinyl ester/fiberglass housing for exceptional corrosion resistance inside and out, the Durcor® piping system comes with an industry-first 5-year warranty against corrosion.
Durcor® Piping Systems
Our complete piping systems feature a full range of accessories in addition to our Durcor® pipes and fittings, including:
Applications and Uses
Durcor® piping systems offer a complete solution to corrosive and ultra-high purity fluid transfer. Durcor® is likely the most viable solution to solving fluid transfer concerns in established spaces with the highest corrosion potential like chlor-alkali chemical plants, pickling lines in steel mills, and solvent extraction in mining. It is emerging as a critical enabler for ultra-high purity markets like green hydrogen and semiconductors. Durcor® is ideal for industries such as:
- Chemical manufacturers
- Energy (i.e. Green Hydrogen, Biofuels)
- Mining (i.e. Lithium, Critical Minerals, Lithium Recycling)
- Petrochemical
- Pharmaceutical
- Semiconductors
- Steel processing
Features of Durcor® Structural Composite Piping System Components
Durcor® features allow it to rise above competitors. Some standout features include:
- Free standing construction: Durcor® seamless PTFE liners are designed to be freestanding (the liner is not adhered to the exterior composite housing), so you eliminate the risk of delamination present with dual laminates.
- Lot traceability: Durcor® pipes and fittings feature a manufacture date stamp, allowing you to trace every component back to its specific lot.
- 5-year warranty: Each Durcor® component comes with an industry-leading 5-year warranty against environmental corrosion. No steel is present except for bolts, so there is no chance for pipe corrosion under installation (CUI).
- Superior strength: Durcor® piping systems can be treated similarly as schedule 40 steel pipe, to which they are dimensionally equivalent. The difference is mainly in the torque requirements of the flanges measuring of the torque at the flanges. Durcor® requires no more supports than steel due to similar spanning capability. Durcor® mechanical tensile strength for a 2 inch pipe is 45,000 psi compared to 60,000 psi for steel and 14,200 psi for typical FRP piping.
- Lightweight: Durcor® is one-quarter the weight of comparable steel piping systems, making it cheaper to transport and easier to install without scaffolding or crane systems.
- Temperature and Pressure: Our systems easily handle full vacuum and pressures up to 275 psi and temperatures in the range of -40 F (-40 C) to 300 F (149 C).
- Thermal expansion: Durcor® has a lower thermal expansion coefficient than steel (4.5 X 10-6 in/in/°F (8.1 mm/mm/°C) for Durcor® vs. 8.0 X 10-6 in/in/°F (14.4 mm/mm/°C) for lined steel pipe.
- Consistent ID and OD: Durcor® is made with a fully automated process with highly consistent quality ensuring consistent ID and OD.
- Flanges: Our standard offering includes rotating flanges.
- Size range: We manufacture Durcor® piping systems in sizes ranging from 1 to 8 inches and up to 50-foot lengths to reduce the number of flange connections.
