RamParts® Pumps, Heavy Duty Air Driven Diaphragm Pumps, P Series
The RamParts® Pumps, Heavy Duty Air Driven Diaphragm Pumps, P Series is a super heavy duty, sealless diaphragm pump designed for continuous operation of the most demanding fluids. Whether it be sludge, abrasives, corrosives or any combination of the three, RamParts® pumps are built to take the punishment.
Product Features & Benefits
- HEAVY DUTY SEALLESS PUMP: A unique continuous heavy duty sealless pump designed to reliably stand up to the most corrosive and abrasive liquids.
- RUGGED DESIGN OVERCOMES THE MOST ABRASIVE LIQUIDS: Our rugged design overcomes the most difficult and abrasive liquids that destroy progressive cavity, lobe and double diaphragm pumps. We can pass large solids with a diameter up to 6 inches while keeping the solids suspended in the liquid. Low internal fluid velocities and the cycle nature of the flow maintain solids in suspension without damage.
- HIGH STRENGTH DUCTILE IRON: The Ramparts P Series Pump is built with high strength ductile iron or with extra thick molded Neoprene, Nordel, Nitrile, Viton, or ETFE linings to meet your specific application.
- EASY TO REPLACE SERVICE PARTS: Service parts can be easily replaced without removing the pump from the piping and at minimal cost as compared to our competitors.
- EXTREMELY ADJUSTABLE: Both suction and discharge pressures are adjustable

RAMPARTS P-Series pumps incorporate the proprietary diaphragm-assist air cylinder design that conventional RAMPARTS Air Driven Diaphragm pumps have been known for. As with competitive air driven diaphragm pumps, the air cylinder pulls the pump diaphragm through its suction stroke. However, unlike ‘spring-assist’ competitive designs, the cylinder-assist presents virtually no resistance as the pump moves through its discharge stroke. With less energy required for operation, the pump is more efficient, utilizing lower air pressure by comparison than competitive pumps. Lower air pressure also means less differential pressure across the diaphragm, resulting in less stress and longer life. The RAMPARTS P-Series design takes further advantage of the cylinder-assist by providing precise compressed air flow control through the pump controller. Precise control allows the pump operation to be matched with the characteristics of the liquid being pumped, as well as the individual suction characteristics of the application
RAMPARTS P-Series pumps includes a base tee and lower pump body which provides an unobstructed flow path of liquid through the pump limiting the disphragms' exposure to abrasive solids. This design eliminates a number of joints that require gaskets and hardware commonly used in competitive pumps
An ANSI 125/250-pound flange is provided for connection to the discharge piping. By utilizing a 90 degree elbow, the flange face can be positioned perpendicular to the ground plane, or rotated as required by design conditions.
The RAMPARTS 'P-Series' design employs 90 degree ball check valves on both the suction and discharge ports to control the flow of liquid through the pump. These check valves allow unrestricted flow and the passage of larger diameter solids, by comparison, than competitive diaphragm pump designs.
Each check valve includes an access cover for external inspection or service of the valve using simple hand tools - or they can be fitted with optional 'Twist Lok' yokes which require no tools at all. Both designs allow the check valve balls and seats to be replace with the pump in-line. The suction and discharge check valve assemblies are identical, reducing repair parts inventory costs.
Gasketed or sealed joints in the P-Series RAMPARTS pumps feature a bolt configuration that provides a leak-proof pump assembly that does not require an external seal. This design also provides a self-alignment feature unique to bolted configurations, making pump maintenance more efficient.
An ANSI 125/150-pound flange is provided for connection to the suction piping. By utilizing a 90 degree elbow, the flange face can be positioned perpendicular to the ground plane, or rotated 90 degree increments through a full 360 degree rotation. This allows for the most direct connection to the liquid source. For applications requiring the pump to be located above the liquid source, the perpendicular flange can also be replaced with a horizontal threaded connection. Either form provides the flexibility required for the most efficient installation.
RAMPARTS P-Series pumps Pump Controllers and Air Headers work together to run the P-Series RAMPARTS pump. The P-Series pump is operated through a pump controller which energizes solenoid valves onboard the air header. The solenoid valves shift compressed air from the air cylinder to the pump body, for the suction and discharge strokes respectively. RAMPARTS Pump controllers time the strokes to provide the desired flow rate and deliver regulated air at the pressure set by the operator. RAMPARTS offers several pump controller models from manual to PLC driven fully automated models, explore the details of these offerings in the controller section.
